History of KRSMA Wines

KRSMA vineyards were founded in 2008. The founders have bought vast lands and took two years to prepare the ground for cultivating grapes.

While the land preparation was going on, the owners searched for a suitable name that would reflect the Indian culture and unity. They wanted a name that could create its own category, and nothing could better than name it in the name of the two people who established such a unique idea together. Therefore, the first part of Krishna and the ending part of Uma was taken to give it the name ‘KRSMA.’

In 2010 the first vine cultivation took place. Cabernet Sauvignon was the first planted grape variety. Nevertheless, the owners of KRSMA wanted to offer exceptional quality, and they decided to hold the vintage and wait till the upcoming year. They believed that this would provide an outstanding quality wine. And they were absolutely right.

In 2011 the first KRSMA Cabernet Sauvignon was launched. The KRSMA Winery was ready with all wine-making tools by that time. In the same year, they planted new grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sangiovese, which are continued as the best wines in the history of KRSMA wines.

In 2012 KRSMA explored their first vintage wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese. In the same year, Sauvignon Blanc has received the New Zealand International Bronze Show Award- which was one of their initial accomplishments.

In 2013 KRSMA released their K2 wine range, which was fresh and had a youthful appeal in the packaging. This year the first vintage Chardonnay was released and won Gold at the China Wine and Spirits Awards.

In 2015 India’s first vertical tasting of 4 wines of Cabernet Sauvignon was arranged in Bengaluru. This year KRSMA introduced the first Indian Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum bottle. KRSMA was the first Indian company to launch the Magnums of their kept wines.

In 2016, KRSMA revealed their first Syrah wine. Syrah has received many awards before its official launch. With the release of vintage Syrah, KRSMA has broken all its previous records, and it is still introducing something new every year.
