York Vineyard Grape varieties
Shiraz and Chenin Blanc are the most cultivated red and white grape varietals in India. Other than these two, there are vast cultivations of Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel that take place in York vineyards. Apart from that, a small amount of Chardonnay and Tempranillo cultivation is also taking place. But many clones are found, which increase the chances of more cultivation of these grapes in York Vineyards.
York Wine Making
York engages the latest techniques for cultivating, spraying, pruning, and harvesting. The technologies are implemented to make sure that they can produce the best quality vines in their vineyards. York has their own vineyard estates as well as they work collaboratively with other grape cultivators of Nashik on a contract basis. The York-produced wines result from the various microclimates and fields of their Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Chenin Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc gardens that are located throughout the Nashik region. The versatile blending of the grapes from York vineyards with the exclusive wine-making processes helps York wines to taste different from the other Indian wines.
York Winery
York winery is crafted on different levels, and here the multiple grape processing areas are situated in a streamline. They have a separate section of grape receiving, crushing, red wine-producing, white wine production, barrel, wine packaging, preservation. These individual sections assist the brand in transferring the wine under gravity where it could be moved and that too without involving pumps. Using pumps harms grapes’ quality which the company can get rid of by not using them. Foraging, there are underground cellars that offer the required temperature for the aging of wines. York follows the latest South African and Australian methods along with some traditional French practices. The open-minded attitude and the latest Italian types of machinery and wine preservation to 1 million liters enable the brand to produce exclusive and high-quality Indian wines continuously.
